Accidents implying
chlorine in swimming pools are usually due to the contact of the
sodium hypochlorite with an acid solution. When the reaction occurs,
chlorine is expelled from the liquid under the form of a gas heavier
that air, moist, aggressive and corrosive. This type of mixture
produces a compound called dichloride, whose inhalation can cause
serious physical disorders.
The resulting
symptoms are : irritation of the mucous membranes, shortness of
breath, coughing, tightening of the chest, suffocation, headaches,
nausea and vomiting.
For most
swimmers, danger often comes from the reaction between the
chlorinated products with the organic elements that they bring
themselves in the swimming-pool water.
Swimmers bring
nitrogenous compounds such as sweat, skin scales or urine. They react
with the sodium hypochlorite used to disinfect the water. The result
of this reaction is called chloramine, and is irritating for the
respiratory system. The active swimmers, especially in indoors
swimming pools, are going to feel some effects – irritated eyes and
nose, coughing.
When you use the
F30 or R120 Ionizer, you put an end to these risks.
